A New Day.

This is the beginning of a new day ...
I have been given me this day To use as I will.
I can waste it ... or use it for good,
But what I do today is important,
Because I am exchanging A day of my life for it!
When tomorrow comes,This day will be gone forever,
Leaving in its place Something that I have traded for it.
I want it to be gain ... and not loss;
Good ... and not evil;
Success ... and not failure;
In order that I shall not regret The price that I have paid for it.
I will try just for today,
For you never fail ...Until you stop trying.

The ideals which have lighted my way, and time after time have given me new courage to face life cheerfully, have been Kindness, Beauty, and Truth. The trite subjects of human efforts, possessions, outward success, luxury have always seemed to me contemptible.

The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery every day. Never lose a holy curiosity.

The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science.

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

If A is success in life, then A equals x plus y plus z. Work is x; y is play; and z is keeping your mouth shut.

No amount of experimentation can ever prove me right; a single experiment can prove me wrong.

Confucius-The Analects

己所不欲，勿施于人 What you do not want done to yourself, do not do to others.
三人行，必有我师焉。I walk along with two others, they may serve me as my teachers.
见贤思齐焉；见不贤而内自省也。When you see a good person, think of becoming like her/him. When you see someone's bad habit, reflect on your own weak points.
事父母几谏，见志不从，又敬不违，劳而不怨。When you serve your mother and father it is okay to try to correct them once in a while. But if you see that they are not going to listen to you, keep your respect for them and don't distance yourself from them. Work without complaining.
君子坦荡荡，小人常戚戚。 The superior man is satisfied and composed; the mean man is always full of distress.
父在，觀其志；父殁，觀其行；三年无改於父之道，可謂孝矣。When your father is alive, observe his will. When your father is dead observe his former actions. If, for three years you do not change from the ways of your father, you can be called a 'real son'.
君子欲訥於言而敏於行。The greater man does not boast of himself, But does what he must do.
知之為知之、不知為不知、是知也。What you know, you know, what you don't know, you don't know. This is true wisdom.
攻乎異端，斯害也己。To throw oneself into strange teachings is quite dangerous.
溫故而知新，可以為師矣。Reviewing what you have learned and learning anew, you are fit to be a teacher.
學而不思則罔，思而不學則殆。 To study and not think is a waste. To think and not study is dangerous.
主忠信。毋友不如己者。Hold faithfulness and sincerity as first principles. Then no friends would not be like yourself
